i had a piggy but found i was allergic to them so i gave her to my friend who really wanted one, she was pregnant and gave birth 2 babies and although both parents were Abyssinian one was flat-haird, well here's the problem-panda (one of the children) has a red inflamed ear! they've gone to a vet but it's not a very good one so i thought you guys might help me?

Hey Guys,

My 1 yr old Piggy Oreo was sat on my lap and I was eating christmas chocolate coins.
She managed to nibble the end off one of them while I wasn't looking!
She ate about 5mm square piece, tiny really, but should I be worried???

I read online that chocolate is toxic to piggys. But surely it would take a lot to harm them?

Hi there.

I have two boars. Lenny turned one in Aug. '09 and Edward will be one on Jan.4 '10. They live in a 2x4 C&C with a 1x2 hay loft. They sleep on fleece/towel liners made by jenscustomcrafts.com. They are spoiled. They also have beds from jens and from cozycavy.com. Their pellets come from KM, and I swear it's like piggy crack, or so they say. They are both unaltered and are a bonded pair.

Okay, all my friends are tired of hearing me be so excited about my new boy. I had pigs in high school, which is quite a while ago, but I fiinally just found myself another one. Snickers was being "rehomed" on Craigslist. He is just cute as a button! We are about halfway done building him a C&C cage so he can move out of the horribly small one his previous owners had him in.

We bought two guinea pigs from a pet store in mid-July. They are our families first pets and living in a very small community, unfortunately the pet store seemed our only option.

Both guinea pigs have been healthy and happy until about 3 weeks ago. One of our piggies, Peggy, began having some white flaky raw edges appear on her ears. Both ears. It almost appeared as if the skin were peeling - both outside her ear and further in, at the start of the ear canal. I found a vet in town...

My wife and I recently decided to get a couple of GP as pets, and after looking at our nearest shelter (none was available) we went to PETSMART.
It has been 4 days since we got them home but they are frightened all the time. We can not even walk by the cage because they jump and try to hide. When we hold them they star to shiver and it is really stressful because it seams we are hurting them.

Because I pulled my vet up on being wrong in regards to Jensen's gender he has adopted a policy that he will not sex mini pigs until they are 6 to 8 weeks old!!

I have 3 pigs: Colby, Sally and Phoebe and they are all 3 years old. All day long Colby and Phoebe have been mounting Sally. I live in a one bedroom apartment with two Guinea Pigs. I started having a bad allergic reaction. Trouble breathing was making it so I couldn't get to sleep at night. I noticed a major lessening of my symptom's when I switched my GPs from Timothy Hay to Orchard Grass. I was starting to consider finding another home for them before I switched the hay.
