take home) 9 days of antibiotics and 3 days of pain medication.  About two weeks ago he had two large abcesses removed and the area he was operated on looks
quite different than it does this time.  This time it looks a litte like a pit, hard to describe, but you can tell it was where he was operated on (last time I

			<description><![CDATA[ It&#39;s really weird. His breathing&#39;s normal, his eyes/nose aren&#39;t running and he&#39;s eating normally and very active. I took them to a vet who
claimed to treat Guinea Pigs, but I think I knew more than she did and she said he seemed fine and thought the sneezing was some sort of virus that should go
away.  Now I&#39;m worried though. Could this still be a respiratory infection or am I just overworrying? ]]></description>

Athena&#39;s.  This is the first time I&#39;ve had a pair of girls, and I noticed that when I had two boys, the one&#39;s sac was larger than the others.  Is
this normal in female&#39;s too?  I know they are both certainly girls but Elise&#39;s ring almost looks like it&#39;s loose.  When she is standing, it looks

			<description><![CDATA[ So I am a Social Worker and I have a client who has a guinea pig- let&#39;s just call him Piggie for confidentiality reasons (<img src="http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif" alt="image">).  He is a fairly healthy pig and I have been spending quite a bit of time
educationg her on (what I know about) care and feeding of the little guy.  She has some problems with memory and recently had a stroke so she also has mobility

			<description><![CDATA[ I have a 2 yr old male guinea pig. I just gt him from a lady that could no longer care for him. When I got him his toenails were beginning to look like
corkscrews and she told me a while back that he had scurvy. i just got him Saturday and on Sunday I noticed a black bump on his lower back. I thought it was
his grease gland but when I cleaned it nothing came off of it. It looks lik a crater type thing. Has anyone seen this before?  I took a pic.

			<description><![CDATA[ I got my first pig today from a friend, he says she is about 2 years old. She is very affectionate and sweet.

I looked at her nails and the were so overgrown they were curled off to the sides. Obviously I trimmed her up as good as I can.

She seems to have growth like callousses covering the pads of her front feet. What are these and how do I treat them? Is a vet trip in order?

always thought he had small testicles compared to Cinnamon.  That is because Leo, is actually a she.  I am scheduled to have Cinnamon neutered on the 30th and

			<description><![CDATA[ Hi Guys.. this is a thread about my other female piggy Noodle.. she is about 3 years and she stayed with my friends the night before last.

When we got her back yesterday she was so bloated and gassy! Her stomach was really growling and sounded like it was just full of gas.. rumbling and sounding
quite &#39;aggresive&#39;. She also felt big and bloaty and was uncomfortable.

My friend said she fed her lots of dandelion leaves from the garden. I think this is what caused it?

			<description><![CDATA[ and one of them is on 2 different medications. One is orally (which I can do) and the other is for her eye. It&#39;s a tube and I&#39;m supposed to put it on
her Cornea 2twice/day for a week. I tried it tonight and I honestly don&#39;t think I can do it, she&#39;s squeaking bloody murder and won&#39;t stop moving
and overall it is just way too complicated (her blinking and stuff doesn&#39;t help). I feel like that&#39;s more of something a Vet should be doing, am I
wrong?

is eating fine.  I noticed them two days ago, but could only get him into a vet for this afternoon.  However, I need to travel about 45 minutes away in a hot
car with no air conditioning, with him in his carrier that I don&#39;t consider ventilated enough for such a trip.  The sores look better, but they are still
