Okay, all my friends are tired of hearing me be so excited about my new boy. I had pigs in high school, which is quite a while ago, but I fiinally just found myself another one. Snickers was being "rehomed" on Craigslist. He is just cute as a button! We are about halfway done building him a C&C cage so he can move out of the horribly small one his previous owners had him in.

My question is about Snickers's little toenails. I know eventually I'll have to...

For the first full week I had ButterCup at home with me she got a daily slice of a red delicious apple as a daily treat. She still gets some sort of fruit as a daily treat, but last night I decided I wanted to eat a red delicious apple myself. So, I sat down and started eating it. I have two female guinea pigs, Carmel and Mocha. Every night Carmel 'chirps' or 'sings' sometimes for longer periods than others. It's amazing and I feel very special to have a guinea pig who does it every night. Usually Mocha will be sitting or lying in the cage just watching and listening to her, but she never does it herself. Maybe Carmel's breed has someting to do with it? She's either a Peruvian or a Silkie and Mocha is an Abyssinian. Carmel is also the more...

I have always wanted a guinea pig since I was a little kid. Now I'm 29 and have 2 boys and wanted to get a family pet. We got Benny pig first. He's a tri color abyssinian. He is so sweet and love to cuddle up on my neck. And then we got rico fabio he's a beautiful red eye tri-color silkie we adopted. They bonded right away! I was so lucky. They are truely the best pet I've ever had!

Any advise for constant chewer?

I am new at the GP parenting. We have 2 young boys; cute as can be! But Chester keeps chewing on the plastic ramp inside the cage. I have provided a parsley roll, snak shak log, a hanging Ka-Bob as well as a snack bar hanging in the cage; but he keeps chewing-on the ramp! Any suggestions? Also, is there any way to determine how old my little buddies are?

I got 2 female guinea pigs a month or so ago.
One turned out to be pregnant and here are the results!!!

Hello everyone -

New member here, long-time guinea pig owner. My piggies are Chester, Brandie, and Cukie, all thoroughly spoiled (housed separately, of course). I was wondering if anyone's pigs constantly "talk" to them making a kind of "gurgling" or "clucking" noise (sounds like a pull-toy). My gp Brandie does this all the time. Also, Brandie will "coo" to me when I hold her, and sometimes I match the sound and "coo" back...

Has anyone had any experiences with rats and guinea pigs together? My sister has a rat and I have two guinea pigs. My Abyssinian really does not like Alice the rat. But Carmel, my Peruvian, is nicer to Alice.
