I am realizing I post a ton of the same links over and over. I have a cheat-sheet, since I can't possibly remember all of these web addresses. So I figure
I should post my cheat-sheet here.
The thread that kicks this off: Thinking about getting a guinea pig?

And something very important before you get multiple animals - they must be properly sexed!! This page has clear pictures and detailed instructions: Sexing Guinea Pigs
Guinea Pig Behavior

Health Concerns
Weighing your guinea pig is a good way to chart health. Its also good for determining the age of young guinea pigs: GuineaLynx:: Care Guide - Weigh Weekly
Mites are extremely common. They can be treated at home - it requires a scale to accurately weigh your guinea pig, some ivermectin, and a 1ml needleless syringe. For more information about mites, and how to treat with ivermectin (pour-on, horse paste, injectable), including dosing charts, please read:
GuineaLynx::Hairloss
Information on Ivermectin
My personal favorite type of Ivermectin is the pour-on (5mg/ml, or 0.5% solution). It doesn't require any mixing, and just needs to be applied topically behind their ears. It can be purchased at a feed store, or online, like at Valley Vet. With shipping, their smallest bottle runs about $21. And, of course, you'll need the Pour-on dosing instructions.
And lastly, some not-so-common links - These are the ones I always lose, and have to dig through old posts to find.
Worldwide Pigsitters (You can also post on this board for pigsitters - usually under Friendly Chat)
Vitamin C Content in Produce
Finding a Vet
Hand Feeding a Sick Pig
This thread is closed to keep it clean and readable. If you feel there are other good links that I am missing, please email me and I will add them.
Happy reading!
