He needs a trip to the vet ASAP. It could be as simply as some swelling on the spine, but it could mean something is broken. He needs to be diagnosed by a
cavy-savvy vet.

What kind of cage do you have? A CC cage? Mine live in a CC cage without a top (I've never read any warnings) and the cage sits on a little table, so if
mine jumped out they could be seriously injured...

Pigs can escape out of C&C cages, if they put their mind to it. Usually there's a reason for the escape, though. Animals like that don't tend to
leap into the abyss (because the likelihood of getting hurt when you can't see where you're jumping). Some people have lids on their C&C cages for
a number of reasons: keeping animals (cats/dogs) out, or to keep pigs (usually desperate to reach another pig in another cage) in.

Oh goodness...it looks like I'll need to make a lid. That's all I need, for one of them to fall out while I'm at work.

I've had three different pairs of pigs in my C&C cage over the last five years, and have yet to have one bail over the edge. Out of all of them, Willow
would be dopy enough to try it. Its something that could be a concern with really young pigs - they seem to have the energy to vault over the edge. But there
are lots and lots of C&C cages without tops and pigs without mishaps. Unless you have a very bouncy pig, or they have some reason to *desperately* want to
get over the edge (other than begging for food), I wouldn't get panicky that they will bail on you.

I kept my girl in a large storage container so she had lots of room to run. Kept her in that since she was very young and she was happy in there for the
longest time. Came home one night and found her on the floor sniffing around. Put her back in her cage only to have her leap out again...and again. Luckily she
didn't hurt herself but she is now in a enclosed cage. Apparently a fly was after her and she wanted out!! I hope your pig will be okay as well. Good luck.
