I got a phone call this morning from the vet seeing how Penelope is doing. I told him great and that I asses some Alfalfa Hay in the Timothy Hay considering
the age and size of Penelope and Abby. He said that was great seeing as both pigs are small. Then he asked had I ever thought about a third pig. I said
maybe. He then explained that he got a call from a vet that volunteers at the Michigan Humane Society and they received a pig in three weeks ago that has
finished its quarantine period and need a good home to go to and did the vet know of anyone with female pigs that would not breed and would love this pig. The
Humane Society really does not like taking care of GPs and can not give it the time it needed. So my vet told his friend he had an ideal owner who was willing
to learn and asks questions and seeks out help (I told him about this wonderful board he thought it was a good idea). So he called me and asked me to take
her. I was not certain till I saw her picture and how lonely she looked, then I knew how I would spend my birthday money.
I guess the Guinea Pig was a 4-H project and they boy quit wanting to show the Guinea Pig because she would runaway when he tried to pick her up. She is about 5 months old. Makes me mad at the parents who think that these wonderful animals are just a throw away animal.
Can not wait till tomorrow.
