New to piggies and pignic | #2 | ||
|
Hello!
We are new to piggies and have had our two new girls for two weeks. I would love to take them to Pignic in Wellesley this weekend but I know very little about what I need to bring or how to safely keeo them contained while there. Can anyone help? I am really still learning about piggies!! Thanks! Kerry |

If you click on the link in the first post, it will bring you to the Pignic Central page. On the bottom of the page is a list of guidelines, which go over some
of what you need to know.
The Boston Pignic is very much like a picnic. Bring folding chairs or a blanket, something to sit on and be comfortable. Generally speaking, we will have pens for your pigs to be in, but if you have extra grids (from a C&C Cage), its always helpful to have. We generally have smaller pens for pigs that don't get along with the group, or are quarantined (we've had the occasional infested pig appear at the pignic). Bring a towel or something to hold your pigs (or other pigs) in. Beyond that, bring yourself and your pigs. Its a low-key affair, mostly asking questions, enjoying pigs, chatting with others and enjoying the sunshine. If you have any other questions, please post them! |

Woot! Looks like a beautiful day. Weather is supposed to be best earlier rather than later, so I would recommend getting there before 3pm.

Turned out to be a great day!
Someone left behind water bottles (two -- one blue and one orange). Also, There was a box that a guinea pig must have come to the pignic in, but somehow left without?!? It had a white towel in the bottom. If any of these items are yours, and you'd like them returned, please contact me. Thanks! eta: We around 53 pigs come to the event, and probably as many people. I think our people population is growing faster than the pigs to this event! There will be pictures.... mine probably won't be posted for a week (takes a while to edit them).

I left behind the orange water bottle, but I've got plenty! Thank you for such an amazing day, it was great meeting everyone! It's never been so quiet
in the evening, all 8 are still sleeping :)

Your herd was beautiful!
I can return the water bottle to you if you come to the fall pignic (I already have quite a collection of water bottles already!). |

mmeadow writes: Just a heads up to everyone--Truffle, my silver agouti sow, has a spot of ringworm. The whole herd is getting Malaseb shampoos over the
next couple of days. Phooey!
Hopefully this will be a non-issue, but I figured to get the word out. |
