I've noticed something going on for a while now. My pig's ear seems dry & flaky (almost like an ashy consistency to the skin in flakiness) on the
back side of both his ears. It used to be just one, but now it's on the back of both of them. The ear that first had the flakiness was also dry looking
inside his ear and flaky some, and he definitely doesn't like it when I touch that ear (he closes one eye and pulls away if I try to clean or look at the
inside of that ear). The side that is dry on the inside and back of ear looks dark pink in color.
I've tried to put aloe vera on the flaky skin, clean it with hydrogen peroxide, clean the inside with a ear cleanser, but nothing works.
I don't know if its mites b/c it seems to be something that covers the body more, but its just his ears that are like this. Could it be a fungal infection? I've noticed some other strange things... maybe this might help you guys:
-He seems to sneeze (or something like that) sometimes, but he doesn't seem to exhibit anything that would say he has trouble breathing or is sick (as in not eating, breathing problems, not wanting to play, etc).
-His teeth looks like it has some brownish stain on them kinda? (I had a guinea pig before I got him--she didnt have that)
Sorry for the long explaination, but I want to give enough info so you guys can give me advice. He's the second guinea pig I've ever owned and I just want the best for him. My first one I had for quite a long time (6 years). I don't want to see something happen to him at such a young age... I'm just worried
